A letter from Daniel Maté to all of us

Dear Hope4Life Miami community,

I'm writing from Miami International Airport awaiting the flight that will take me back to New York, reflecting on the wonderful weekend that was.

I'm not one for hyperbole, so believe me when I say that Hope4life (yours) is one of the most inspiring and unique places (rooms) I've ever been in. From the moment I entered the building I could feel the love and mutual support that defines the space you've all built together. Over the course of the morning I was privileged to witness the fierce but gentle commitment you all have to each other. As far as I can tell, it's going to take groups of human beings just like you getting together in their local communities if we as a species are going to overcome the normalized myths that keep us so stuck, sad, and sick. So please know that you're leading the way.

On a personal level, you all gave me the warmest welcome I've ever received and I'm so grateful to have had the chance to (I hope) contribute something to your healing journey as individuals and a group. I also had a blast. And the empanadas and flan? Fuhgeddaboudit, as they say where I live.

One other thing: I mentioned the workshop my father and I lead on parent/adult-child relationships, called Hello Again: A Fresh Start for Parents and Their Adult Children. I know that for many of you, this topic is of personal relevance. Working consciously on this unique and often difficult relationship can be one avenue to further one's personal healing, as I've found.

In that spirit, I wanted to send along the information about our upcoming workshops at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck NY (Oct. 28-30) and Vancouver, BC (November 25-27). For the NY one, we'll also be offering the opportunity to livestream the Friday night portion only, which you can register for here.

That's it from me. Be well, take care of each other, and don't hesitate to be in touch. Lakhi has my contact info, or if you want to have a conversation with me about mental chiropractic, the website to book a session is walkwithdaniel.com .

lots of love,

Daniel Maté
